At Gayo Consulting, we offer a broad range of services to meet a client’s internal, organisational requirements as well as external, “environmental” exigencies. We outline these services category-wise:
PRE-EMPLOYMENT RE-EMPLOYMENT / DUE-DILIGENCE SCREENING (PES / DDS) IN INDIA AND OVERSEAS
Our core-competence lies in delivering “Comprehensive Reports” based on in-depth and comprehensive screening procedures. The Reports give the client a detailed, analytical insight into personal and professional life of the prospective appointee – whether he or she is a Senior Manager or a Professional or Consultant. Several of our clients based in the USA have used our PES services to help shape policies relating to mergers and acquisitions of companies in India. We have also provided PES support to Indian companies wanting to acquire businesses in the USA and in Western Europe.
We offer two basic PES services, which, of course, can be modified according to client-specific and / or subject-specific missions. The client needs to provide us with certain inputs about the “subject” on the basis of which the assessment / verification will be carried out and reported.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT AND DUE-DILIGENCE SCREENING OF SENIOR CORPORATE PERSONNEL IN INDIA OR OVERSEAS
Under this service head, we provide Assessment reports (AR) on prospective appointees who are being considered for employment at a senior managerial position. The subject’s AR will include assessments / verification of any or all of the following:
- Personal character and integrity
- Professional integrity and reputation
- Educational / professional qualifications
- Criminal record, if any
- Political affinities, if any
- Communal / religious tendencies, if any
- Social / people skills
- Interviews of immediate superiors and peers
- Any other facet that our client would like us to assess / verify
PRE-CONTRACTUAL AND DUE-DILIGENCE SCREENING OF PROFESSIONALS / SPECIALISTS IN INDIA AND OVERSEAS
Under this service head, we provide background checks of professionals like Chartered Accountants / Auditors, Law Firms, Architects and Medical Practitioners in India and abroad. The client receives at least three types of reports:
- The individual Assessment Report (see Pre-employment Screening section above).
- Report on Professional Standing (RPS) which is based on covert and / or overt interviews with at least five independent professional contemporaries and assesses the professional standing, capabilities and success of the professional being reported.
- Professional Organisational Report (POR) which reports on the size and capabilities of the professional’s firm, its reputation and success.
- Any other facet that our client would like us to assess / verify / highlight.
CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS IN INDIA AND OVERSEAS
We carry out covert / overt investigations into the following cases:
- Frauds and other acts of financial crimes
- Acts of criminal misappropriation, breach of trust or cheating
- Threats to life and property, extortion / robberies, other criminal offences
- Thefts and burglaries
- Perjury and manipulation / fabrication of evidence with criminal intent
- Financial acts of individuals, groups or organisations that may reflect criminal intent
- Acts committed via the internet (cyber-crimes)
We have the capability to carry out independent investigations, either covertly or overtly, and / or in partnership with police and other Central or State government authorities. If required, we can monitor and even provide inputs and logistics to police and other government investigators.
These investigations are always on legal and scientific means of collecting and analysing evidence: Interviews of witnesses, covert and overt surveillance, experts’ opinions, examination of documentary evidence, forensic analyses of evidence. The facts and evidence collected are collated and interpreted according to various laws and statutes.
An Investigation Report (IR) along with suitable follow-up recommendations is finally submitted to the client.
ENQUIRIES IN INDIA AND OVERSEAS
We also conduct enquiries that are outside the domain of criminal law but are critical to shaping or building evidence in cases that come under the Civil Law or Tort, or under specific laws like those relating to Industrial Relations, Information Technology and IT-enabled services, Banking and Investments, Mergers & Acquisitions, Environment, etc.
The Enquiry Report (ER) submitted to the client is also compiled on the basis of legal and scientific means of investigation.
PROPERTY RECORD SEARCHES IN INDIA AND OVERSEAS
We also research the history of specific properties with the following issues in mind:
• History of ownership over the last 50 years
• History of usage of the property or estate over last 50 years
• Current physical condition of the property
• Current market valuation
• Audit of risks arising out of natural disasters like floods or man-made incidents like rioting etc.
LEGAL COUNSEL IN INDIA AND OVERSEAS
We offer a broad range of consultancy in criminal and other legal areas, for either prosecution or defence. Our legal advice has served several clients to base shape their business decisions appropriately with view to avoid legal embarrassment at a later date. We have a team of legal experts including lawyers and former officers from the police, customs and other departments to provide the knowledge support. Our legal counsel also takes into account the opinions of the government officers in whose jurisdiction the client’s case lies.
PLANNING SECURITY STRATEGIES IN INDIA AND OVERSEAS
We can also provide consultancy and manpower support to help any client formulate and implement integrated strategies and systems for cyber security, fraud prevention and detection, physical security of property and other assets.
Assessment of business security risks and security awareness training are two other elements in this service on offer.
SECURING EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT IN INDIA AND OVERSEAS
We offer a bouquet of services to secure the external environment in which the client needs to operate and to this end we can arrange “24 x 7” personal security to not only the client’s key managers but also to visiting dignitaries from abroad. Establishing liaison with political parties, trade unions and other organisations to seek their policy interpretations and cooperation so that the client’s operations proceed smoothly is another key element of this bouquet. India is a country with a bewildering mix of languages, communities and cultures. We provide the clients with inputs on how to overcome these complexities so that the business can be conducted in a tactful manner.
DETERMINING GOVERNMENT OF INDIA POLICIES
The government’s medium / long-term policies and short-term decisions in areas of industry-specific incentives and regulations, industrial relations & trade unions, scope for private business in certain sections of the economy, and geographical zones ear-marked for specific industry segments are some of the inputs a client requires from time to time. We have the resources to provide comprehensive and authentic Policy Reports (PR) on which the client can base his long-term business plans.
